Donnalee E. “Donna” Bowman, 76, of Loveland, died on July 31, 2008, at her daughter’s home in Loveland. She was a devoted wife and mother. She was born on July 25, 1932, in Eagle Grove, Iowa, to Donald A. and Ferne A. (Anderson) Haskin. She attended schools in Longmont and Loveland and graduated from high school in Greeley. She then attended the University of Denver. On Sept. 14, 1951, she married Charles Edward Bowman in Boulder. He preceded her in death on March 1, 1999. Mrs. Bowman was a longtime businesswoman in Loveland, working in publishing and writing, most notably for SHORT STUFF magazine, retiring in 2006. Donna has lived in Loveland most of her life. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Loveland as well as a member of the Colorado Women’s Press Association. Donna was an avid reader and loved writing. She had a strong appreciation for music and enjoyed spending time at her cabin in the mountains.

Mrs. Bowman is survived by her daughter Mari Colleen Adams and husband Randy of Loveland; and son Charles “Rick” Bowman of Loveland. She is also survived by her granddaughters, Ryan Bailey of Fairbury, Neb., and Shanna White of Orlando, Fla.; and grandson Ross White of Loveland. Donna is preceded in death by her husband, Charles, and daughter Julie Stockero.

Funeral services will take place at 2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 4, 2008, at First United Methodist Church in Loveland. Visitation will take place from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday at Kibbey Fishburn Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Donna Bowman Memorial Fund, to be used for a literary scholarship for Loveland High School in care of Kibbey Fishburn Funeral Home.
