Mason City Globe GazetteCLEAR LAKE - Nealo Watermiller, 84, of 216 N. 12th St., Clear Lake, died Sunday, March 7, 1999, at the Oakwood Care Center, Clear Lake. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 11, at the Open Bible Church in Clear Lake. Pastor Will Hunsacker will be officiating. A graveside service will be held at the Meservey Cemetery, Meservey, Iowa.
Nealo was born July 1, 1914, in Goodell, Iowa, the son of John and Johanna (Knipp) Watermiller. He farmed much of his life in the Meservey-Thornton area. On Sept. 25, 1940, he was united in marriage with Nancy Kamp in Kanawha, Iowa. Nealo retired from farming in 1975 and moved to Clear Lake, where he resided until his death. He enjoyed gardening, the outdoors, driving in his car and especially his family.
He is survived by two daughters, Carol Deike and her husband, Donald, and Lois Watermiller, all of Clear Lake; two grandchildren, Roxanne Hasjford and her husband, Glenn, of Clear Lake and Nancie Clark and her husband, Ryan, of Dallas, Texas; three great-grandchildren, Alex, Alyssa and Austin Hasjford; a sister-in-law, Nettie Watermiller, of Belmond, Iowa; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife on May 14, 1966; and two brothers, Raymond and Jake Watermiller. Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, Clear Lake, Iowa.
