George R. Siemens, 89, of Grandview Christian Home in Cambridge, died Wednesday, Dec. 15, 1993. George R. Siemens was born in Kanawha, Iowa on June 30, 1904. He graduated from Northwestern Bible Seminary in Minneapolis. George married Ruth Kramer on Jan. 7, 1929. He was pastor in Wisconsin and several churches in Iowa before moving to Whittier, Calif. in 1942. During his 14 year pastorate at Calvary Baptist Church in Whittier his membership grew. In 1947, he and a group organized Whittier Christian Elementary School. He also started many mission churches in the area. Pastor Siemens continued to pastor churches in Wyoming, Colorado and back in Southern California.

Siemens is survived by sons, Jim of Cambridge and David of Denver, Colo.; daughters, Lois of Chico, Calif.; Adelle of Durango, Colo.; Bernice of Prescott, Ariz. And Muriel of Whittier, Calif.; 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and brother, Rev. M.R. Siemens of Chippewa Falls, Wis. He was preceded in death by his wife Ruth; parents; three brothers; one sister; and one great-grandson.

Funeral services were conducted at 10 a.m., Monday, Dec. 20, 1993 from the Grandview Christian Home with the Rev. Larry Griffiths officiating. Special music was provided by Roxann Dean. Interment was in the Olena Mound Cemetery in Buffalo Center, Iowa. Arrangements were with the Carlson Funeral Home in Cambridge.
