January 6, 1992BURNEY, CA - Graveside services for Henry Alfred Assink, 73, of Burney will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Burney District Cemetery. The Rev. Henry Winkleman of Grace Community Bible Church in Burney and members of Burney Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5689 will officiate. Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. Tuesday at McDonald's Burney Chapel.
Mr. Assink died Saturday, Jan. 4, 1992, at Mayers Memorial Hospital in Fall River Mills. Born July 25, 1918, in Rapelje, Mont., he moved to Shasta County in 1988 from Orange. He was a mill worker for Louisiana Pacific Corp. in Santa Ana. He was a member of Burney Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5689. He is survived by wife Margaret; son Ken of Atascadero; daughter Sandi Weaver of Burney; brothers George and Alfred, both of Kanawha, Iowa, and Alvin of Corona; sister Helen VanWyngarden of Pella, Iowa; and four grandchildren.
