February 8, 1997John Crawford, 52, Bemidji, MN died Thursday, Feb. 6, 1997, in North Country Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Bemidji.
John Joseph Crawford was born Dec. 19, 1944, the son of Franklin and Katherine (Wickwire) Crawford, in Independence, Iowa. He moved with his family to Webster City, Iowa, where he graduated from high school. He worked as a truck driver and truck-stop manager near Ames, Iowa. He also lived in Kanawha, Iowa, where he worked at the local co-op. He married Linda White in Clarion, Iowa. He attended North Iowa Community College, Mason City, Iowa. In 1978, he moved to Bemidji, where he attended Bemidji State University and graduated with a degree in technical illustration and commercial design. He taught country line dance in and around the Bemidji area.
He is survived by a son, Jim (Karen), Kingsland, Ga.; daughters, Jennie (Brad) Gast, Minneapolis, and Sara (Brent) Gast and Heather (Wade) Julin, both of Bemidji; six grandchildren; a brother, Franklin, Boone, Iowa; and a sister, Francine Teyen, in Iowa. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Services: 2 p.m. today in First Baptist Church, Bemidji (Olson-Schwartz, Bemidji).
