James R. Jergensen, 72, of Sugar Grove Township, died Sunday, Nov. 7, 1999, at Provena Mercy Center in Aurora, Illinois. He was born June 9, 1927, in Kanawha, Iowa. Mr. Jergensen served in the U.S. Navy from 1945 to 1946. He was a regional manager for an insurance company. Survivors include his wife, Dolores (Waggoner). A private memorial service will take place at Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home in Naperville.

James R. Jergensen of Aurora and Naperville

A private family memorial service was held for James R. Jergensen, 72, a resident of the Naperville/Aurora area since 1983, at Friedrich Jones Funeral Home in Naperville. Born June 9, 1927, in Kanawha, Iowa, he died Sunday, Nov. 7, 1999, at Provena Mercy Center in Aurora. Mr. Jergensen had been senior vice president/regional manager for Allendale Insurance Company prior to his retirement in 1989 after 34 years of service. A veteran, he had served in the Navy from 1945 to 1946.

Surviving are his wife, Dolores Jergensen (nee Waggoner); daughters, Marcia Graver of Roselle, Elaine (Richard) Tinberg of Winnetka and Julia (Harry) Edelman of Minneapolis, Minn.; grandchildren, Rebecca Lynn (Craig) Hofmann, Christine Elaine Tinberg, Richard James Tinberg, Alexander James Edelman and Jonah Jergen Edelman; four sisters; and one brother. He was preceded in death by two brothers. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Children's Memorial Hospital, 2300 Children's Plaza, Box 4, Chicago, IL 60614, would be appreciated.
