DELAVAN, Illinois - Harold D. Marth, 81, of 209 Heritage Lane, Delavan, died at 1:25 p.m. Saturday (Dec. 2, 2000) at Hallmark House Nursing Center, Pekin. A graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Prairie Rest Cemetery, Delavan, with the Rev. Dan Larimore officiating. Burial will be in Prairie Rest Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Davis Mortuary, Hopedale, is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to Prairie Rest Cemetery Association.

He was born Feb. 6, 1919, in Kanawha, Iowa, the son of William and Hilda Swanson Marth. He married Margaret Kennedy on Oct. 31, 1941, in Keokuk, Iowa. She died Nov. 25, 1981. He later married Mary Brown Close on Sept. 18, 1983, in Delavan. She survives.

Other survivors include, two sons, Thomas (June) Marth, Douglas, Kan.; and Robert (Kathy) Marth, Delavan; two stepsons, William Martin, Fort Madison, Iowa; and Roger Martin, Delavan; one daughter, Starrlene Etheridge, Lacey, Wash.; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters.
