Jeanette L. Jorgensen, 82, of Fort Dodge, died May 10, 2008 at the Marian Home. Funeral services will be held 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Gunderson Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Phil Somsen officiating. Interment will be held in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Gunderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services.

Jeanette Abrams, the daughter of Ralph and Mildred Abrams, was born on December 11, 1925 in Fort Dodge. She attended country school. On July 19, 1943 she was united in marriage to Jasper Butrick. The marriage was later dissolved. On October 17, 1975 she married Daniel Jorgensen and the couple made their home in Dows. Throughout her life she worked as a nurses aid in several care facilities including Friendship Haven, Dayton, Dows and Webster City nursing homes and as a home healthcare nurse. Jeanette loved playing Skip-Bo and dominoes, watching T.V., crocheting and knitting. In 2005 she moved to the Marian Home.

Survivors include her children Betty (Chuck) Hamm of Alexander, Donna (Kevin) Houdeshell of Iowa Falls, and Donald Butrick of Cedar Rapids; her grandchildren Ondrea Pearson, Dawn Butler, Travis Hamm, Tabitha Odegaard, David Houdeshell and Marvin Sorber; 11 great-grandchildren; her brothers Claude (Evelene) Abrams, Ralph Abrams, Leslie (Madelyn) Abrams, and Larry (Sandy) Abrams. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and her brothers Ronald and Harold. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
