Doris Mae Callow, 84, of Zearing died of a heart ailment Friday at Colonial Manor there. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Stevens Memorial Chapel in Ames, with burial at Ames Municipal Cemetery.

Mrs. Callow was born in Dows and also had lived in Big Stone City, S.D., before moving to Ames 39 years ago. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Grand Avenue Baptist Church in Ames and enjoyed embroidery. She is survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Franklin. Friends may call one hour prior to services Tuesday at the funeral home.

Doris Mae Callow, 84, of Zearing, died Friday of heart failure at Colonial Manor in Zearing. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Stevens Memorial Chapel in Ames, with the Rev. Terry Rassmussen officiating. Burial will be in Ames Municipal Cemetery.

Doris Mae Callow was born March 28, 1918, in Dows, the daughter of Earl C. and Ethel (Larue) Smart. She married Franklin Rudolf Callow Aug. 10, 1945 in Big Stone City, S.D. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Grand Avenue Baptist Church in Ames. She was preceded in death by her husband and two brothers. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at Stevens Memorial Chapel in Ames. Stevens Memorial Chapel in Ames is in charge of arrangements.
