Story City, IA-- Clarice E. Okland, 90, of Story City died of a heart ailment Thursday at Bethany Manor Nursing Home there. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Bethany Manor, with burial at Mount Olive Cemetery in Randall. Mrs. Okland was born in Ellsworth and had lived in Story City, Randall, Dows and Florida before returning to Story City in 1997. She had owned and operated Okland Cafe in Story City, Randall and Dows before retiring and was a former member of Bethel Lutheran Church in Story City.
She is survived by two daughters, Ramona Johnson of Fort Collins, Colo., and Nadine Overley of Aurora, Colo. a son, Merlyn of Story City two sisters, Ethel Plasch of California and Alice Wilson of Hesperia, Calif. 10 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Merle.
Friends may call from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the nursing home. Memorial contributions may be made to Bethany Manor or the charity of the donor's choice. Soderstrum-Larson Funeral Home in Story City is handling arrangements.

Clarice E. Okland, 90, of Story City, died Thursday of heart failure at Bethany Manor Nursing Home in Story City. Services will be 1:30 p.m. Monday at Bethany Manor, with the Rev. Sandy Anenson officiating. Burial will be in Mount Olive Cemetery in Randall.Clarice E. Okland was born March 19, 1912, in Ellsworth, the daughter of Omer and Anna (Lunning) Lindeback. She married Merle Okland in 1930. She owned and operated Okland Cafe with her husband in Story City, Randall and Dows. She moved to Florida in 1965. She returned to Story City in May 1997. She was a former member of Bethel Lutheran Church in Story City.
