Charles "Larry" Brower, 65, Pineville, Mo., died Dec. 9, 2003, at a Neosho, Mo., hospital after an illness. Services were held on Dec. 15 at United Methodist Church, Pineville, with the Rev. Doris Schlessman officiating. Cremation was held at Bella Vista Crematory, Bella Vista, Ark.

Charles "Larry" Brower was born on June 7, 1938, in Clarion, Iowa. He had lived in Pineville for three years, coming from North Dakota. He worked at St. Mary's High School in North Dakota and for the Ford Motor Co. in Kansas City, Mo. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in Vietnam during the conflict. He did volunteer work for the North Dakota Game and Fish, teaching fishing and boating to young kids. He loved to fish and taught all of his family how to fish.

Charles is survived by his wife, Charlet Brower, Pineville; three sons, Charles L. Brower Jr., Lake Park, Ga., Robert E. Brower, Las Vegas, and Christopher L. Brower, Excelsior Springs, Mo.; his mother, Katherine Brower, Pineville; one sister, Lela Ek, Pineville; two brothers, John A. Brower Jr., Millford, Conn., and David L. Brower, Peculiar, Mo.; three grandchildren; 24 nieces and nephews; six great-nieces and nephews; his mother- and father-in-law, Lillian and Vincent Hegel, Mandan; two sisters-in-law, Mary Hegel and Lorie Siebel, both of Bismarck; and two brothers-in-law, Dough Hegel, Mandan, and Bruce Hegel, Chadron, Neb.

The family requests no flowers. Memorial contributions may be given to the family to help with final expenses and sent to Ozark Funeral Home, P.O. Box 520, Anderson, Mo. 64831.
