MADISON, WI - Kenneth C. Cox Sr. age 91, of Boulder, Colo., formerly of Madison, died on Saturday, Sept. 27, 2003, in Boulder. He was born on Nov. 13, 1911, in Clarion, Iowa, the son of George Thompson Cox and Maude Irene Bell. Kenneth married Bessie Rehm in 1933. She preceded him in death in 1982. He married Lena See in 1984 and moved to Boulder. Kenneth worked as a carpenter for 40 years, retiring in 1974. He was a member of Boulder First Church of the Nazarene. Kenneth loved hunting, bowling, fishing, history books and listening to Bible tapes. He is survived by his wife, Lena; six children, James (Dyanne) Cox of Fitchburg, Kenneth (Judy) Cox of Overland Park, Kan., Jean (Warren) Hardin of Cottage Grove, William (Carol) Cox of Baraboo, Elizabeth (Tim) Hoversten of Portage, and Joseph (Gina) Cox of Dane; two step-children, Gene (Nancy) See of Florida, and Shirley (Ralph) Thompson of Colo.; 24 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; and three sisters, Doris Compton, Vera Arnsdorf, and Norma Darling, all of Wisconsin. Kenneth was preceded in death by four brothers; and a sister. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON OREGON FUNERAL HOME, 431 Soden Drive, at 11 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 3, 2003, with the Rev. Vern Awes presiding. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in Prairie Mound Cemetery. Gunderson Oregon Funeral Home.
