Ruth Schuman Holbert, 84, of Tinton Falls, formerly of Nutley, died Wednesday, Aug. 29. Visiting hours will be from 2 to 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 4, at the George S. Hassler Funeral Home in Jackson. There will be a service immediately following.
Born in Clarion, Iowa, Ruth traveled the globe, including driving to all 48 contiguous states and Alaska. She was an artist and homemaker.
She was predeceased by her daughter, Fayette Cometti, in 2004. She is survived by her husband, Wilbur Schuman; granddaughters and their husbands, Veralynn and David Megill and Cynthia and Robert Schmidt; great-granddaughters, Stephani Ansley and Samantha Megill, and siblings, Dorsey Eckleberry Jr., Beverly Deighan, Barbara Giardina and Richard Eckleberry.
