Memorial services for Mary Lou Robbins-Wells, 62, will be at 11 a.m. Dec. 1 at Hope Lutheran Church in Riverside, California. She died Thursday of cancer at her daughter's home in Belmond, Iowa. Tenold Funeral Homes in Belmond is handling arrangements.

Mrs. Robbins-Wells, who was born in Ventura, Iowa, lived in Riverside, California 22 years. She was a homemaker. She was also an independent representative for Avon for many years. She enjoyed gardening and raising dogs.

Mrs. Robbins-Wells is survived by her husband, Arthur; two daughters, Lujeanne Fink and Jolene Robbins, both of Belmond; two sons, Bradley of Forest City, Iowa and Brian of Clear Lake, Iowa; five grandchildren; her parents, Louis and Louise Loth of Belmond; and a sister, Karen Rasmussen of Des Moines, Iowa.

Mary Lou Robbins-Wells, 62, died Thursday, Nov. 16, 2000, at the home of her daughter, on the farm where Mary Lou grew up. She had battled cancer. Funeral services were held Monday, Nov. 20, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Belmond with Pastor Rod Hopp officiating. Music was provided by Eldoris Bunnell, organist; Shelly Turner, vocalist. Ushers were Loren Bamford and Al Olson. Honorary bearers were Loren Robbins, Sara Fink, Tiffany Fink, Amanda Robbins and Bob Fink. Casket bearers were Rodney Rasmussen, Dennis Nelson, Robbie Rasmussen, Dan Carlson, Harry Nelson and Scott Schaefer. Interment was at Belmond Cemetery near Belmond.

Mary Lou, the daughter of Louis and Louise (Haupt) Loth was born December 26, 1937, on a farm near Ventura. She weighed 3 pounds, 3 ounces. They moved to the Haupt homestead south of Belmond in 1940 and she attended the Belmond schools. She was united in marriage to Eugene Robbins in 1954, and to this union four children were born. Mary was a homemaker and also worked at Winnebago Industries in Forest City. She enjoyed gardening, canning, Jazzercize, and raising dogs and horses. In 1978, they moved to California, where she sold Avon and won many awards. She married Arthur Wells in 1994 in Riverside, CA. She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Mary Haupt. Survivors are her husband, Art Wells of Riverside, CA; her children: daughter and son-in-law, Lu Jeanne and Ron Fink of Belmond; daughter, Jolene Robbins of Belmond; son and daughter-in-law, Bradley and Georgia Robbins of Forest City; son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Glenda Robbins of Clear Lake; parents, Louis and Louise Loth of Belmond; sister, Karen Rasmussen of Des Moines; grandchildren, Amanda and Loren Robbins, Sara, Tiffany and Bob Fink; nephews, Rodney and Robbie Rasmussen.
