January 2, 1993The funeral for Esther Jennie Ronshaugen of North Portland, Oregon will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Portsmouth Trinity Lutheran Church. Interment will be at Skyline Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Ronshaugen died of causes related to age Wednesday in a Portland hospital. She was 92.
She was born Nov. 19, 1900, in Eagle Grove, Iowa. She had lived in the Portland area since 1943 and joined Portsmouth Trinity Lutheran Church that same year. Mrs. Ronshaugen, a homemaker, was a skilled seamstress and had made hundreds of quilts. Her husband, Carsten Ronshaugen, died in 1978. Survivors include her daughters, Leona Nelson of Lake View Terrace, Calif., and Arlys Dobo of Las Vegas, Nev.; her sons, Daniel Newman of Sparks, Nev., and Kenneth Newman of Portland; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandsons.
The family suggests that remembrances be contributions to a memorial fund at Portsmouth Trinity Lutheran Church.
