A graveside service for Donald Dean Kirkland Sr. will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Mountain View Cemetery, Oregon City. Mr. Kirkland died of an aneurysm Wednesday in a Portland hospital. He was 58. He was born Nov. 28, 1931, in Eagle Grove, Iowa. Mr. Kirkland moved to Oregon City area as a child and later graduated from Oregon City High School. He was a project engineer for companies that included the Boeing Co. in Seattle and Radar Pneumatics in Tigard. He retired because of a stroke in the mid-1970s.
He was married to Florene Wymore on Sept. 2, 1950, in Oregon City. In addition to his wife, Mr. Kirkland is survived by his sons, Don Jr. and Mark, both of Portland, and David of Oregon City; daughters, Kay Munger and Sandra, both of Portland; seven grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
