06 January 1910 -- 26 February 1967

Funeral services for Harley LeRoy Tomlinson, 57, were held Wednesday afternoon, at Fulton Funeral Home. A former Belmond resident who died Sunday at the V.A. Hospital at Des Moines. He had been a patient there for about a month, suffering from a Heart Disorder and Kidney Infection. Rev. Harold Dollit of Manly, which was also a former home of the deceased, officiated at the funeral. Burial was in the Belmond Cemetery. Pallbearers were friends of Mr. Tomlinson from the communities. Mr. Tomlinson had been living in Wilmington, California, before his return to Iowas and entry into the V.A. Hosptial as a patient.

He was born at Belmond, Iowa on January 6, 1910, son of Ralph and Malinda (Weaver) Tomlinson. He attended the local schools and graduated from Belmond High School. During World War II he enlisted in the U.S. Army at Kensett, November 2, 1942 and served as a Military Policeman. During his term of duty he received the Good Conduct Medal and Meritorious Unit Award.

He is survived by his mother and by two brothers, Jesse and Joseph, all of Manly; and his sister, Mrs. Dick (Adah) Bodde of Hampton.
