DES MOINES — Vicki Lana Hansen-Krug, 56, formerly of Belmond, died Saturday (Jan. 24, 1998) at Hospice Kavanaugh House in Des Moines. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at United Methodist Church, Belmond, with the Rev. Jerry Robertson officiating. Interment will be in the Belmond Cemetery. Friends and family are invited to the church for lunch following the graveside services. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. at Dugger Ewing Funeral Home in Belmond and one hour prior to services at the church.

Vicki was born on May 25, 1941, in Belmond, the daughter of Glen and Doris Bergerfer Musselman. She grew up in Belmond. Vicki was baptized and confirmed in the Belmond United Methodist church. She attended Belmond Community Schools, graduating in 1959.

On June 23, 1961, she was united in marriage to Larry R. Hansen at the United Methodist Church in Belmond. Together they had three children. On September 5, 1981, Vicki was united in marriage to Maynard Krug. At the age of 50, Vicki returned to college to become a nurse, which she was working as until she became ill. Vicki enjoyed painting, crafting, gardening, sewing, shopping and quilting. Vicki had a passion for life which she shared with everyone she met. During her lifetime, Vicki touched many lives. Her memory will be cherished by many friends.

Vicki is survived by two daughters, Kimberly Sue Ausborn and her husband, Ron, Belmond, and Debra Jo Sorensen and her husband, Chris, Des Moines; one son, Lon Alan and his wife, Sara, Souderton, Pa.; four grandchildren, Amanda, Eric, Amber and Nicole; her mother, Doris E. Musselman, Belmond; three sisters, Barbara Dickerson and her husband, James Leroy, Colfax, Shelia Ruka and her husband, Gary, Belmond, and Cyndy McNulty and her husband, Dennis, Belmond; one brother, Randy Musselman and his wife, Brenda, Jamestown, Ind.; a very special great aunt and uncle, Delores and Delmar Dayton, Fort Dodge; and numerous other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her father.
