12 February 1882 -- 13 August 1968

Ida Ethel Rowland, daughter of William and Belle Sears Rowland was born on February 12 1882 at Winchester, Ill. Early in life the family moved to Missouri where she received her formal education. On November 29, 1899 at Stockton, Mo. she was united in marriage to George W. Shaunce and to this union three children were born. Shortly after her marriage they moved to Eagle Grove, Iowa in 1901 and this has been her home ever since that time. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Eagle Grove, Iowa.

She was predeceased by her husband, George, and of course her parents and one son, Arthur Dean. On August 13, 1968 after a long illness she entered in rest at the Rotary Ann Home in Eagle Grove where she had lived for the past twenty three months. At the time of her passing she was 86 years, 6 months and 1 day.

Mrs. Shaunce leaves to mourn her passing two daughters; Mrs. Dennis (Ruby) Moon and Mrs. Howard (Georgia) Morgan both of Eagle Grove, one sister Mrs. Betty Brandt of Fair Oaks, Calif. Seven grandchildren, and eighteen great grandchildren, other relatives and many friends.

She was a loving wife and mother, always willing to lend a helping hand. Many times in her earlier life she attended many of her friends in the capacity of midwife. Funeral services were held Friday, Aug. 16, 1968 at two p.m. at the Wilson-Sandvig Funeral Home, Eagle Grove, Iowa with the Rev. Arthur W. Anderson Pastor of the First Baptist Church officiating. Interment was held on the family lot in Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove, Iowa.
