Roger Anthony Tasler, 61, a 20 year resident of the Carson Valley -Reno area, died Saturday, November 12th, 2005 at Washoe Medical Center. He was born October 6th, 1944, in Jefferson, Iowa to Atha Kinsman and Tony Tasler. Roger was a resident of Melvin, Iowa for many years before moving to Nevada. He was a teacher and a legendary coach at Melvin High school in Iowa where he coached both the girls' basketball and softball teams. He took both teams to the Iowa State Tournament, which brought prominence to a very small town in the state of Iowa. Besides being an extraordinary coach and teacher, he was a dedicated husband, a considerate friend, and the best loving father anyone could have. Among his survivors are his son, Anthony Tasler, his daughter, Kristina Bradshaw, his grand daughter Taylor Tasler-Oatley, and his life long companion Patricia Tasler. He is also survived by his four brothers Dennis Tasler, Norman Tasler, Don Tasler, Duane Tasler, and his sister, Marlene Black. A Memorial Service for Roger Anthony Tasler will be held Wednesday November 16, 2005 at 7:00p.m. at Walton's Funeral Home in Carson City. Walton's Chapel Of The Valley has been entrusted with the final arrange ments.
