DOWS -- Erik Hanson, 23, of Dows, died Wednesday (May 1, 1996) one and one-half miles south of Dows on County Road R-75 in a one-car accident. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the First Lutheran Church, Dows, with the Rev. Glenn Kapplemann officiating. Burial will be in Otis Grove Cemetery, rural Dows.Visitation will be from 2 to 8:30 p.m. Friday at the Elledge Funeral Home, Dows. The casket will be closed.

Erik Hanson was born May 23, 1972, in Dubuque. Survivors include his parents, Neilan and Trish Hanson of Dows; one sister, Kari Bell of Maryville, Mo.; his paternal grandparents, Kenneth and Evelyn Hanson of Dows; and his maternal grandparents, the Rev. Herbert and Thelma Bryant of Vinton.
