DOWS -- Ervin L. Halverson, 80, of Dows, died Wednesday (Aug. 20, 1997) at St. Mary's Hospital, Rochester, Minn. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at St. Olaf Lutheran Church, west of Belmond, with the Rev. Lowell Halvorson officiating. Burial will be in St. Olaf Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the Dugger Ewing Funeral Home, Belmond, and one hour prior to services at the church.

Ervin L. Halverson was born Oct. 12, 1916, in rural Belmond. Survivors include his wife, Peggy, of Dows; one sister, Herma Roseth, Americus, Ga., and two brothers, Garfield "Gus" Halverson and Merlin Halverson, both of Kanawha. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
