December 3, 2000BELMOND - Henrietta Bernice "Dollie" Jenison, 84, died Friday (Dec. 1, 2000) at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the United Methodist Church, Belmond, with Pastor Celestyne De Vance officiating. Interment will be in Belmond Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Tenold Funeral Home, Belmond. The family will be present from 4 to 6 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church Tuesday.
Henrietta Bernice (Sturgeon) Jenison, affectionately known as "Dollie," was born Oct. 18, 1916, at Dows. She attended and graduated from the Dows High School in 1934. After graduation she began working in St. Louis, Mo., and Austin, Minn., before moving to Belmond. Henrietta was united in marriage to Duane Jenison on March 12, 1938. They farmed together north of Belmond and raised three sons. After the boys left home, she began working for Dr. A. M. Nelson and later at the Belmond Community Hospital in the Medical Records Department. They retired to Belmond in 1982. She was a member of the United Methodist Church and the UMW.
Those thankful for sharing in her life are her three sons, Roland Jenison and his wife, Phyllis, of Ames, Lynn Jenison and his wife, Karen, of Ellensburg, Wash., and Jerry Jenison and his wife, Lynn, of Ames; eight grandchildren, Lisa Jenison Keller, Leigh Alan Jenison, Rachael Jenison Brown, Troy John Jenison, Gina Jenison Evans, Tami Jenison Trotter, Judson Paul Jenison and Scott J. Jenison; eight great-grandchildren, Lena Anne Jenison, Anna Leigh Jenison, Tomas Ian Jenison, Andrew James Keller, Paul Jenison Keller, Grace Elizabeth Keller, Maya Marie Evans and Jack Jenison Evans; and a sister June Dieser of Owatonna, Minn. Henrietta was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Duane; two brothers; and four sisters. Tenold Funeral Home
