HAMPTON - Ardeth I. Ryan, 78, of Hampton, died Tuesday (Nov. 27, 2001) at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City. Her funeral will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday at the Hampton United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Jerry Miller, officiating. Burial will be in the Hampton Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the Sietsema-Vogel Funeral Home.

Ardeth was born on Oct. 20, 1923 in Dows to Wayne and Mabel (Erickson) Cooper. She graduated from Dows High School in 1940. She lived in the Hampton area all of her life. She was united in marriage to Glen Ryan on Sept. 20, 1947 in Hampton. Ardeth worked as a nurse's assistant at the Hampton Care Center for 30 years. She was a member of the Hampton United Methodist Church. Ardeth enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Glen Ryan, of Hampton; a son, Ron and his wife, Margo Ryan, of Hansell; four daughters, Linda and her husband, Jay Brower, of Hampton, Janan Shillington, of Iowa Falls, Colleen and her husband, Steve Simons, of Hampton, and Donna and her husband, Mike Dallwitz, of St. Louis, Mo.; one brother, Loren and his wife, Pat Cooper, of Dows; 13 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Wallace; a sister, Ardelle; and a grandson, Jonathan. Sietsema Vogel Funeral Home.
