BELMOND - Colleen Walrod, 70, passed away Thursday (Dec. 28, 2000) at Belmond Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Dugger Ewing Funeral Home in Belmond with the Rev. Lynne Spencer-Smith officiating. Burial will take place at the Belmond Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home and will continue one hour prior to the service at the funeral home Sunday.

Colleen, the daughter of Leo and Helen Kelley Dorr, was born Jan. 29, 1930, in Oxford Mills, Iowa. She grew up in the Oxford Mills area and moved to Belmond when she was 14. On Nov. 9, 1946, Colleen was united in marriage to Douglas Walrod in Garner. The couple made their home in Belmond their entire married life. Colleen always enjoyed her home and her family. Her hobbies included cross-stitching and quilting. Many of these projects her family will treasure.

Colleen is survived by her husband, Douglas, of Belmond; two daughters, Toni Armour of Belmond and Judy Havens and her husband, Donald, of Belmond; two sons, Steven and his wife, Linda, and Bill and his wife, Missy, all of Belmond; nine grandchildren, Matt and his wife, Sue, Jesse, Rita and her husband, Geoff, Sarah, Michael, Jason, Emily, Travis and Taylor; one great-granddaughter, Emma; a sister, Donna Robertson and her husband, Dave, of Belmond; two brothers, Leo Dorr Jr. and his wife, Kathy, of Iowa Falls, and David Dorr and his wife, Wanda, of Belmond; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Eugene; and a son-in-law, Terry. Dugger Ewing Funeral Home.
