BELMOND - Funeral services for Dollie Meyers, 82, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Tenold Funeral Chapel in Belmond, with Pastor Lowell Halvorson officiating. Interment will be in the Belmond Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the Tenold Funeral Home and one hour before services on Monday.

Dollie (Kelley) Fleener Meyers, the daughter of Mary Ann (Fuller) and George Franklin Kelley, was born on March 17, 1917, at Wellman. She attended school in Belmond. On August 15, 1934, Dollie was united in marriage to Clarence Fleener at Garner. The couple made their home in Belmond and raised five children. Clarence passed away in 1971. Dollie was united in marriage to Paul Meyers on March 9, 1972. They lived in Belmond for a short time and moved to Florida, where they resided for 17 years. In 1991, Dollie and Paul returned to live in Belmond and Paul died in 1994.

Dollie loved to sew, both for herself and for many people in Belmond. She also was a quilter, she liked collecting mementos and she was an avid refunder. Dollie had a great love for her children, her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren. She died on Thursday (Feb. 24, 2000) at the Belmond Health Care Center in Belmond.

Those left to cherish her memory are her three sons, Victor Fleener and his wife, Phyllis, Thomas Fleener and Larry Fleener and his wife, Denise, all of Belmond; two daughters, Bonnie Dirks and her husband, Bill, of Belmond and the Rev. Donna VanLangen and her husband, Gerald, of Webster City; 19 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; a brother, George Kelley, of Denver; a sister, Joan Jenkins, of St. Paul, Minn.; and many nieces and nephews. Dollie was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Clarence Fleener; second husband, Paul Meyers; four sisters and three brothers. Tenold Funeral Home.
