CLEAR LAKE -- Fred R. Albright, 76, of 701 S. 13th St., died Wednesday (March 27, 1996) at home. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, 101 N. Fourth St., with the Rev. Fred Lewis of the Clear Lake United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Mason City. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, and one hour prior to services on Friday at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials to the Fred R. Albright Memorial Fund.
Fred was born Jan. 10, 1920, in Meservey, the son of Ara and Jane (Reikens) Albright. He farmed in the Dows area. Fred moved to Mason City, where he met and married Betty Hohenfield in 1941. They then moved to Clear Lake. Fred worked for Sam Kennedy, Holland Furnaces in Mason City and later was in furnace sales in the Waterloo and Des Moines area. In the early 1960s they moved to Fort Wayne, Ind., and he was in sales until the mid `60s. They moved back to Clear Lake. He then worked for Secory's Plumbing until his retirement in 1985.
Fred is survived by his wife, Betty Albright of Clear Lake; one son, Robert Albright and his wife, Robyn, of St. Paul, Minn.; three grandchildren, Michelle McLain and her husband, Mark, of Coralville; Charlie Albright and Matt Albright, both of Clear Lake; one great-grandson, Cain; one brother, Lloyd Albright of St. Paul, Minn.; and two sisters, Neva Lynch and Alphia Walker, both of Mason City. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Dorothy Albright and Bonnie Johnson.
