DOWS -- Berenice Lelia Frye, 96, died Thursday (Sept. 11, 1997) at the Dows Health Care Center. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. today at the United Methodist Church with the Rev. James Turner officiating. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery.

Berenice Lelia Hilton was born on March 6, 1901 in Omen, Ill. Survivors include two daughters, Jean Winegar of West Des Moines and Betty McClenhan of Belmond; one son, Donnelle of Fort Meyers, Fla. and Clear Lake; 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers, and four sisters. Elledge Funeral Home of Dows is in charge of arrangements.
