H. Olson’s Infant Child dies
Patient Little Sufferer is Called to Heavenly Home.
Transplanted from God’s great flower garden in the heavenly paradise, came Robert Henry Olson on June 5, 1912, to gladden the hearts and home of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Olson.
On Saturday, September 12, aged 4 months and 7 days, from University hospital in Iowa City, at 4:00 a.m. his tired spirit winged its flight to the home above and there, safe in the arms of Jesus, he rests in peace and quiet, waiting for the home coming of Father and Mother. Seldom in all his short life of pain, yet a most patient little sufferer was he and it was his good fortune to have every possible effort put forth by parents and loved ones to ease his pain but in spite of all that could be done he was not able to win in the fight for life and at last worn out by pain and suffering he quietly and sweetly fell asleep to waken again on the farther shore. Father, Mother, Sister, with a company of relatives now have a most powerful link binding their hearts to the home beyond while here they have the sympathy of the entire community.
Services were held at the Presbyterian church Tuesday afternoon conducted by Rev. Brown who chose as his text 2 Samuel 12.23 b. I shall go to Him but He shall not return to me. Appropriate music was sung by a mixed quartet Mesdames Brown and McComas and Messrs McComas and U.H. Rummel with Miss Marie Zimmerman at the piano. Interment was made at Fairview Cemetery in Dows.
