Services Held Wednesday For Samuel B. LaRue
Samuel Brown LaRue, of Dows, died early Monday morning at the hospital in Cherokee where he had been a patient the past seven weeks. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 2:00 o’clock at the VanHove funeral home in Dows, with Rev. John Langehough, pastor of the First Lutheran church, in charge. Burial was in Tom Oleson cemetery southeast of Dows.
Mr. LaRue was a long time resident of the Dows vicinity and engaged in farming until his retirement. He was born to Thomas and Margery LaRue at Richland Center, Wisconsin, November 19, 1882, and was married at Hampton, July 30, 1905 to Anna Oleson. Mrs. LaRue died March 21, 1950.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. William Vestweber (Violet) of Dows, and Mrs. Henry Vestweber (Pearl), of Clear Lake; a son Dale LaRue of Hawkeye; three sisters, Miss Fossie LaRue and Mrs. Hazel Leach of Dows, and Mrs. Isabell Steenhard of Britt; three brothers, Ernest LaRue of Popejoy, Louis LaRue of Webster City, and Dewey LaRue of Britt; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
