Lawrence D. Asche, the son of Angle and Alice (Omvig) Asche was born February 16, 1943 in Eagle Grove. He was raised and educated in the area of his birth. Larry served in the United States Navy from 1959 to 1963.

On July 3, 1972, Lawrence married Amy McPherson at Clarion, Iowa. He worked for the street department for the City of Eagle Grove for 26 years. Larry enjoyed fishing and hunting.

Larry died Monday, February 4, 2008 at the Villa Care Center in Fort Dodge at the age of 64. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Ed, Joe and Kenneth; sisters-in-law, Irene and Dora; brothers-in-law, Raymond and Warren and 2 stepsons, Rick McPherson and Mike McPherson.

Survivors include his wife, Amy Asche of Eagle Grove; children, Danny and Suzie Huffman of Carson City, Nevada; stepchildren, Arlan McPherson and wife Shannon of Eagle Grove; Laurie McPherson and friend Jon Biondahl of Eagle Grove; Melanie Clay and husband Rick of Goldfield; several grandchildren; sisters: Mary Henningson of Clear Lake, Mildred Reed of Eagle Grove, Alice Jean Lessmeier and husband Harold of Fort Dodge and Linda Asche of Eagle Grove; brothers: Don Asche of Eagle Grove, Richard Asche and wife Janis of Clarion, Ronald Asche and wife Fran of Caldwell, ID, Robert Asche and wife Judy of Eagle Grove, John Asche and wife Cindy of Eagle Grove and Terry Arne and wife Vicki of Eagle Grove; numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family. Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 9, 2008, at 10:30 a.m. at the Foust Funeral Home in Eagle Grove with Pastor H.W. Schiller officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Eagle Grove.
