December 2, 1856 -- July 1, 1900

Mrs. C. L. [Charles Lafayette] Watson died at her home in Grant township on Sat. evening from a complication of ailments. She had been in poor health for several months but not until a day or two before was her condition regarded as critical.
She was born near Williamsport, Penn. December 2nd 1856 and in 1860 she moved with her parents to Black Hawk Co. Iowa where she was united in marriage to Mr. Watson on the 28th of October, 1878. Six years later they moved to South Dakota living there fourteen years. Returning to Ia. in the spring of 1898, and since then residded in this locality. Mrs. Watson was a lady of quiet, unpretending ways, ever ready to aid those in need of her services with words of good cheer for all with whom she came in contact. As a wife, mother and friend her life exemplified all that is best in woman.

By her death a husband, three children, parents, brothers and sisters and a large circle of friends are left to mourn the loss of a truly good woman.
