September 29, 1857 -- October 8, 1935

Charles LaFayette Watson was the son of Thomas Watson and Saloma Koch Watson. He died at age 78 Yrs. 9 Days of a cerebral hemorrhage. He grew to manhood in the place of his birth in Black Hawk County, Iowa and occupied himself with farming until two years ago when he retired and moved to Clarion. In 1879 he was united in marriage to Luvina Myers. To this union three children were born Gertie, who has made a home for him the death of his wife, William, and Lena. He was an active member of the I.O.O.F. lodge for many years. He leaves to mourn his passing his three children Miss Gertie Watson, of Clarion, Will of Casey, and Mrs. C. W. Cox of Mason City; one brother Edward of Waterloo;
