Story City -- Kermit Houck, 88, of Story City died of cancer Sunday at Colonial Manor in Zearing. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at St. John's United Methodist Church in Radcliffe, of which he was a member. Burial will be at Radcliffe Cemetery.

Mr. Houck was born in Webster City and grew up in Eagle Grove. He then lived in Michigan and California. He was a loan manager before retiring and returning to Iowa. He later owned Houck Insurance Service and owned a flower and gift shop in Radcliffe. He moved to Story City in 1996. He is survived by his wife, Beatrice; and a son, Stephen of Story City. The family will greet friends from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Boeke Funeral Home in Radcliffe.
