Iva Ellaine Smith, 100, a homemaker and a longtime resident of Eagle Grove, Iowa, and mother of a Bloomington man, died at 2 a.m. Sunday (May 10, 1992) at Clarion (Iowa) Care Center. Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church, Eagle Grove, the Rev. David Miller officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove. Visitation will be after 3 p.m. today at Kastler-Babcock Funeral Home, Eagle Grove.

Local survivors include a son, John W. Smith, 1108 Elmwood Road, Bloomington. Memorials may be made to the Iva Ellaine Smith Memorial Fund.

Clarion - Iva E. Smith, 100, of the Clarion Care Center, died Sunday. Survivors include sons, Earl, West Bend; Dale, Eagle Grove; John, Bloomington, IL; and Donald, Goldsboro, NC; daughters, June Moss, Goldfield and Bernice Rawson, Portland, OR; 20 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren; and six great great grandchildren; a half sister, Leona McCaulley, Lake City. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Sarah Carmichael Jones; her husband, Ralph; sons, Gerald, Ralph Jr., Lloyd, Richard and Kenneth; infant daughter, Bernice; a granddaughter and a great grandchild.

Iva E. Jones was born Aug. 23 1891 in Rockwell City. She attended country school near Rockwell City. In 1909 she married Ralph Smith of Jolley, at Rockwell City. They farmed near Rockwell City until 1919 when they moved to Eagle Grove. Her husband died in 1963. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Eagle Grove.
