SENATE RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois learned with regret of the death of Evelyn M. Swanson (nee Gronwall) of Park City on Monday, March 6, 2006; and
WHEREAS, She was born on May 11, 1924, in Goldfield, Iowa, to Arthur and Jessie Gronwall; she married Clifford H. Swanson on July 30, 1945, in Iowa; and
WHEREAS, She was employed as an audio visual technician for District 64 in North Chicago for 27 years until her retirement in 1987; and
WHEREAS, Mrs. Swanson was a member of Gurnee Community Church, a former member of the North Chicago Emmanuel United Methodist Church, a member of the Women's Bible Group and Elderberries, an active member of the Greater North Chicago Senior Club and the North Chicago Women's Club, where she served many years as president, the Park City Senior Group, the Lake County Chapter of AARP, and a former member of the North Chicago Children's Service Association; and
WHEREAS, She enjoyed camping, traveling, helping others, and being a mom, grandma, and great-grandma; and
WHEREAS, The passing of Evelyn M. Swanson has been deeply felt by many, especially her son, Kevin (Marian) Swanson; her daughter, Karen (David) Fermaint; her grandchildren, Ginger (Keith) Storrs, Donald (Tara) Fermaint, and Elisa and Diego Fermaint; her great-grandchildren, Michael and Matthew Storrs and Destiny and Dallas Fermaint; her aunt, Hazel Rogness; her sister-in-law, Doreen (Harold) Strand; and her many nieces, nephews, friends, and the "Silver Foxes"; she was preceded in death by her husband, former North Chicago Alderman, Clifford, on October 24, 1992; her brother, Raymond Gronwall; and her parents; therefore, be it
RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Evelyn M. Swanson, and we extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to her family as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
