TEMECULA, CA ---- Charles F. Hanson, 73, died Sunday, Jan. 30, 2000, of acute respiratory failure at Rancho Springs Medical Center. Born Dec. 28, 1926, in Algona, Iowa, he lived in Temecula for eight months. He was a truck driver with Umthun Trucking in Eagle Grove, Iowa, for 42 years before retiring. He received the Million Mile Award for trucking with no accidents. He served as a corporal in the U.S. Army from 1945 to 1946 and was a member of St. Cecelia Parish in Algona.
Mr. Hanson is survived by his wife, Juanita Hanson of Temecula; son Charles Hanson of Oskaloosa, Iowa; daughters Frances Bretz of Amarillo, Texas, Natalie Steffens of Temecula and Virginia Culp of Fort Dodge, Iowa; sisters Violet Bauder and Betty Hanson, both of Chester, Mont.; and two grandchildren.
A rosary was recited Wednesday, Feb. 2, at Stout Family Funeral Home. A Mass will be celebrated on Friday, Feb. 4, at St. Cecelia Catholic Church in Algona. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Stout Family Funeral Home in Temecula is handing arrangements.
