Dean C. Hagen, 84, of Cedar Rapids died Tuesday, November 13, 2007 at his home following a sudden illness. Funeral Services will be Monday, November 19, 2007 at 2pm at the Lensing Oak Hill Chapel, 210 Holiday Rd., Coralville, where friends may call after 12:30pm, Monday. Burial with military honors will be held at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Oxford.

Dean was born August 12, 1923 in Dows, Iowa. He was united in marriage to Colette Gjertsen on August 12, 1946. She died Jan. 31, 1965. Dean was a longtime area plastering contractor. He served in the US Army during World War II.

Survivors include his nine children; Sharon (Terry) Yeo, Kenneth D. Hagen, Deanna Hagen, Mary Hagen and Terry Hagen, all of Iowa City; Nancy (Lorne) Gessner of Edmondton, Alberta, Canada; Kathy Hagen of Cedar Rapids; Dennis Hagen and Rene (Mike) Goedken, both of Eldridge; twelve grandchildren, RaeAnn, Deana, Angela, Darrick, Troy, Aimee, Jessica, Dirk, Rick, Tiffany, Larry and Kristjan; and ten great grandchildren; one brother, Max (Carol) Hagen of Cedar Rapids. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and three siblings, Corene, Burnell and Russell.
