Beverly Ann Hanian, 85, passed away on Saturday, December 15, 2007, while bravely fighting lung cancer. She was born June 20, 1922, in Eagle Grove, Iowa, the daughter of Clarence and Lena Ditsworth. Upon graduating from Eagle Grove High School, where she played center on the girl's basketball team, sang with the chorus and played piano by ear, she went on to graduate from Mercy College School of Nursing in Des Moines. She was an active member of the alumni association, believed that healing the sick was her true calling and enjoyed her work with Catholic Daughters of America. She was shy until meeting the love of her life, James E. Hanian. They eloped to Omaha, NE (Schultenkempers) and later married at St. Ambrose Cathedral in Des Moines. Beverly enjoyed entertaining family and friends and will be missed for her famous fudge, cookies, ribs, meatballs and pumpkin bread. In her later years, home was with her daughter in Rancho Mirage, CA, where she enjoyed music, theatre, painting and habitual furniture rearranging. She was preceded in death by her parents and beloved husband, Jim. She is survived by ...her children, grandchildren and extended family
