Douglas Vincent Metheny, 66, passed away late Tuesday evening at Kavanagh on 56th in Des Moines. He was born July 17, 1941, in Perry, IA and is the son of the late Dr. V.R. and Irene Metheny of Eagle Grove, IA. Douglas is survived by his son, Mark (Christine) Rasmussen; two granddaughters, Alexandra and Catherine all of MN; brother, Jan (Joanne) Metheny of West Des Moines; sister, Kitty Abrams of New Orleans; aunts, June Cornelius of Des Moines and Mary (Morris) Towne of Jamaica, IA; and many nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, October 25, 2007, at Violet Hill Cemetery in Perry, IA. A memorial service will be held in November.
