COLFAX - Funeral services for William Wade Sr., 93, a longtime Colfax area farmer, were held today, Oct. 25, at Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Colfax. The Rev. Jerry Harris, pastor of the Colfax First Baptist Church conducted services. Burial was in the Colfax Cemetery. Memorials to Hospice of Central Iowa or the church may be left at the funeral home. He died Saturday at the Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines.
Survivors are three daughters, Mary Ann Ray and Marcella Warner, both of Colfax, and Barbara Ross of Ankeny; 13 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving are three brothers, George and Le Roy, both of Newton, and Mack of Marshalltown; and four sisters, Leatha Eddy and Mary Harmon, both of Colfax, and Ruby Murray and Dorothy Howell, both of Newton.
The son of Sidney and Anna Stewart Wade, he was born May 21, 1900 in Thor. He was married to Clara Mae Wilcox Nov. 29, 1922 in Woolstock.
