Eagle Grove Resident Dies in Home; Burial Is Made in Rose Hill

EAGLE GROVE,- Sept. 6—Funeral services were held in the East Side Lutheran.church in charge of the pastor the Rev. T. J. Severtson, for John Vike, 82, who died on Thursday afternoon. Mr. Vike was born in Sveens Pastorate, Norway, and was married at Tegland, Mosterhaven, Norway in 1878. He came to America with his family in 1883 and located at Jewell. In 1885 they moved to Woolstock, where they lived for 15 years, then to Renwick for 3 years, coming to Eagle Grove in 1903.

Besides his widow, he is survived by one son, John, Jr., five daughters, Mrs. Sophie Eaton of Britt, Mrs. Anna Solberg of Boone; Mrs. Martha Cox of Duluth, Minn.; Mrs. Jennie Larson and Mrs. Lena Middleton of Eagle Grove. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren, three great grandchildren; and three sisters living in Norway. Burial was made in Rose Hill cemetery.
