BELMOND — Lawrence H. (Larry) Larson, 89 years old, of Belmond, IA died in Scottsdale, AZ, August 29, 2007. He was born in Lohrville, IA and had lived in the Rockwell City, Laurens, and Thornton, IA areas before moving to Belmond in 1964. He was the Mayor of Belmond from 1977 to 1996.

He is survived by his four children, Susan Nelson of Bloomington, MN, Nancy Larson of Des Moines, IA, Kathryn Wenzel, of Phoenix, AZ, and L. Joe Larson of Ankeny, IA; and his dear brother Harold Larson of Pomeroy, IA. Memorial services will be held Saturday, September 15 at 10 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Belmond, IA. The family will receive visitors at the church an hour prior to the service.
