EAGLE GROVE—Theodore H. Bangs, 61, Chicago Great Western conductor, died at his home Thursday evening from heart disease. Funeral services were held on Sunday at the Wilson funeral chapel, in charge of the Rev. J. R. Tumbleson of the Methodist church. Burial was made in Rose Hill cemetery. He is survived by the wife, and three daughters, living elsewhere. He had lived in Eagle Grove for 50 years.

A heart attack Thursday evening proved fatal to Theodore H. Bangs. "Ted" as he was known to his friends in this community where he had resided for the past 25 years. Mr. Bangs retired Thursday in apparent perfect health. He was seized with a heart attack and passed on shortly after a doctor arrived. Mr. Bangs for the past 25 years or more has been employed in the train service of the Great Western with headquarters at Clarion but maintained his residence in Eagle Grove.Funeral services were held in the Wilson Funeral Chapel Sunday afternoon with the Rev. J. R. Tumbleson in charge.
Obituary
Theodore Howard Bangs, son of N. D. and Sylvia Bangs, was born Jan. 8, 1879 at Plainfield, Ill. He came to Humboldt, Iowa with his parents in 1882, where he lived until the family moved to Eagle Grove in 1890. He graduated from the Eagle Grove high school in 1897, and soon after entered the employ of the Chicago & Northwestern railroad.
In 1903, he went to New Mexico with his sister who was in ill health. While there he worked for the Santa Fe railroad. After 12 years he returned to Eagle Grove where he lived until the time of his death. He had been in the train service of the Chicago Great Western railroad for about 25 years.
On April 17, 1923, he was united in marriage with Mrs. Mary Frandson of Eagle Grove.
The surviving relatives are his wife, Mrs. Mary Bangs, one brother Donald T. Bangs of Ft. Dodge; three sisters, Mrs. Lyle Wilson of Oklahoma City, Okla., Mrs. Louise Thompson of Santa Fe, N. M., Mrs. Ella May Dunbar of Atlanta, Ga. His father died in 1923 and his mother in 1938. A brother, Oscar Bangs, died in October 1920, and a sister, Clara Bangs, died in childhood while the family lived in Humboldt.
Mr. Bangs died quite suddenly Dec. 26, 1940. He was a member of the Order of Railway Conductors. Funeral services were held at Wilson's Chapel, Dec. 29, with Rev. J. R. Tumbleson in charge.
