Eagle Grove Man Is Heart Victim; Funeral Thursday

EAGLE GROVE—Selmer Johnson, 78, died late Monday while fishing in the Boone River, two miles south of here. He had apparently fallen into the water after suffering a heart attack. When he failed to return home his family began a search for him. His body was found by his daughter, Mrs. Charles Oldson, between 5 and 6 p.m. His watch had stopped at 4:30. Mr. Johnson was a retired railroader who had lived in Eagle Grove for many years. He is survived his wife and two daughters, Mrs. Oldson and Mrs. Carl Hudgins, all of Eagle Grove. Also surviving are three brothers and three sisters. Funeral services will be Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at the Kastler Funeral Home. The Rev. Dale Brown of the Congregational Church, will conduct the service. Burial will be in the Ellsworth Cemetery.
