The funeral of Mrs. A. P. Johnson was held Thursday at the M.E. Church, conducted by the Former pastor, Rev. J. L. Boyd of Villisca. Mr. and Mrs. Johnson came to Glidden June first for a visit with their son, H, A. and family. Mrs Johnson was taken suddenly ill about two weeks ago and was taken to the hospital in Carroll for medical treatment, where she passed away on August 26. Diabetes was the immeditate cause of her death. Mrs. Johnson, whos maiden name was Wilhelmina Elizabeth Bechtel was born in the city of Dubuque, July 31, 1857. April 18,1876, she was united in marriage to Anders Johnson, who with their family of two sons H. A. of Glidden, and L. A. of Montreal Canada, survive her and were present at her funeral. Mr. and Mrs. Johnson were residents of Glidden and northwestern Iowa, until a short time ago, when they moved to Los Angeles, Calif. to make their home. A large number of old friends from a distance attended the funeral.
