SPIRIT LAKE — Serral (Jack) Paulson, 95, of Spirit Lake and formerly of Eagle Grove, Iowa, passed away Friday, August 17, at Spirit Lake. Jack lived most of his life in Humboldt and Wright counties. He operated a small trucking company in Rutland, owned and operated a motel in Clarion and an A & W in Eagle Grove. Jack moved to Spirit Lake in May 2007.

Surviving are his daughters, Jacque Nielsen and husband Arliss, of Woolstock, and Barbara Giese and Ron Harris of Spirit Lake; 4 grandchildren, Randy Nielsen of Mason City, Todd Nielsen of Webster City, Shelly Hogan of Weston, Wis., and Troy Johnston of Lakewood, Colo.; 10 great-grandchildren; and sister, Gladys Paulson, Eagle Grove. He was preceded in death by his wife of 71 years, Doris (Dolly), 3 brothers and 4 sisters. Private family memorial services will be held at a later date at the Ullensvang Cemetery, Thor, Iowa. Turner Funeral Home of Spirit Lake in charge of the arrangements.
