WATERLOO — Donald V. Bremer, 71, of Waterloo, died Friday, June 3, at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home. He was born May 15, 1934, in Tripoli, son of Paul A. and Elvira Holm Bremer. He married Micki Strottman on August 24, 1993, in Las Vegas. He was a bookkeeper for Wilharm Produce in Clarion and later was the supervisor of payroll for Kroblin Express until retirement. He was a veteran of the United States Navy.
Survivors include: his wife; a stepson, Terry Strottman of Waterloo; a stepdaughter, Kimberly Swinburne of Wasilla, Alaska; a stepgrandson, Colton; special friend and brother-in-law, David (Linda) Coan of Waterloo; a sister-in-law, Lonnie Payton of Albion; four sisters, Darla (Allan) Bock of Sumner, Mary (Dick) Wirt of Owatonna, Minnesota, Julie (Gary) Martin of Minneapolis, Minnesota and Carol (Bernard) Smith of Sumner; and four brothers, Paul (Betty) of Harpers Ferry, Harlan (Donna) of Osage, Duane (Becky) of Tripoli and David (Shirley) of Davenport.
Services: will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Ascension Lutheran Church, with burial in Grace Lutheran Cemetery, Tripoli, where military flag folding will be conducted by Veteran Of Foreign Wars Post 4013. Friends may call from 3:30 to 7:30 p.m. Monday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway and at the church for an hour before services on Tuesday. Memorials: may be directed to the family.
