IOWA FALLS — Otis Allen, 79, of Iowa Falls, died Thursday, May 4, at Heritage Care Center, Iowa Falls. He was born Dec. 20, 1926, in Rowan, son of Otis Alvin and Caroline Orilla Guard Allen. He married Anna Louise Thompson on Nov. 10, 1993, in Iowa Falls. He served in the U.S. Air Force, then with the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II, and then continued with the Air Force after its formation, retiring in 1966. After military retirement he worked as a medical specialist with the South Louisiana Medical Center, retiring in 1989.
Survived by: a son, Otis James of Houma, La.; two daughters, Linda Louise Allen of Iowa Falls and Teresa Kay (Bob) Kroeze of Stanhope, Wash.; [should be Stanwood, Wash.]; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a brother, Ray (Connie) of Iowa Falls; and two sisters, Mary Banner of Winder, Ga., and Alice Van Derwerf of Des Moines. Preceded in death by: three brothers, two as infants and Eugene; and three sisters, Neva Banner, Florence De Vore and Dorothy Allen.
Services: 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Linn’s Funeral Chapel, Iowa Falls. Public visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials: may be directed to the family in care of Linn’s Funeral Home, 1521 Washington Avenue, Iowa Falls.
