Hantea Scheppler (1923-2005)

GLADBROOK — Hantea Scheppler, 82, of Gladbrook, died Sunday, July 31, at Westbrook Acres, Gladbrook. She was born Feb. 12, 1923, in rural Gladbrook, daughter of Johannes and Lone Martin Fulster. She married Delbert Scheppler on Nov. 30, 1947, in Des Moines. He died in November 2002. Mrs. Scheppler and her husband farmed in the Clarion and Galt area until 1961, then moved to the Brooklyn area, retiring in 1976. She also was a cook at the Gladbrook bowling alley for many years.

Survivors include: two sons, Gary of Little Rock, Ark., and David (Peggy) of Cincinnati, Ohio; a daughter, Linda Dober of Hudson; four grandchildren and a great-granddaughter; a brother, Fritz (Juanita) Fulster of Gladbrook; and a sister-in-law, Bess Fulster of Gladbrook. Preceded in death by: a brother, Heinz Fulster. Services: 1 p.m. Thursday at Peace United Church of Christ, with burial in Maple Hill Cemetery, both in Gladbrook. Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at the church. Estel-Perrin-Avey Funeral Home, Marshalltown, is in charge of arrangements. Memorials: may be directed to the family.
